Arrived @ Paris Bed & Breakfast 1:00pm
Arrived at Paris’ Gare de Lyon station and paid 65 euros to live for one night at a bed and breakfast @ 2 Rue de Parrot, a quintessential Parisian flat with tall ceiling, large windows and wooden floors, very well maintained although the bed is apparently dusty. The owner is originally from Amsterdam, I’ll like to interview him later about his Bed and Breakfast operation. He has been here in Paris for 2 years.
This morning I woke up 15 minutes late (after a sleepless night…surfing the web) and I was almost going to miss the train to Parisby the time I got out of hotel, I only had 30 minutes before the Paris train arrive in Amsterdam Central. I called a taxi to get me to the station, but the driver advised that I catch the train at the airport station, which is the next stop; I was stressed out and complete confused with his explanations, the meter was billing me at 10 cent per 4 sec (the most expensive Cab ride in Europe, admit the taxi driver), the cab ride that took about 8 minutes end up costing 30 Euros. Amsterdam RAI (where I lived) is only 2 stations ride away from the airport, and because nobody checks the tickets, it could have been free if I just took the subway. In retrospect, it wasn’t worth all the stress and I could have handled it better with planning and strict adherence to 7 hour sleep rule, but most importantly, I am glad I didn’t miss that train ride or I’ll have to find a place to stay in Amsterdam as well as find another Bed & Breakfast in Paris. Tonight I have to replenish my sleep. Tomorrow I’ll visit a museum & visit Le Cordon Bleu, a cooking school.
Amsterdam Central @ 6:51 to Paris Nord
Wake up call 5:45am; get up, catch metro ride line 51 to Amsterdam Central station to catch the Paris morning train and will arrive at Paris Nord by noon to settle in a Bed and Breakfast for the night.
